New York Stock Exchange

We met Mr. Adcock too.  He is the boss of New York Stock Exchange in the Chicago unit.  When he was little at lunch and dinner time they talked about weather and markets.  His favorite most of all was the markets.  When he was older he went to three different colleges.
He was mostly into sports at the time.  Then when he was an adult he became the Head of Trading and Operations for the NYSE (New York Stock Exchange).
His daily responsibilities are answering conference calls and checking the market in his different office. His typical work day starts at 6:00 A.M. He wakes up at 5:00 A.M. to be on time. He stops at 5:00 P.M. and gets home at about 6:00 P.M, but his job does not stop when he gets home. If there is an  error he will have to take a night shift by e-mail.  Also, there has to be 24 hour coverage of the market, so he works a lot!  He communicates with people around the world in places such as Paris, London, and Brazil. He has 63 people on his team that report to him.  Some are even in Europe!
Usually in the Chicago unit he wears a nice shirt and jeans, but when he is in New York he wears a suit and tie.  When he travels for business he will usually travels to Atlanta, Georgia or New York.  Two times a year he will go to San Francisco.  He has been in his career for 17 years.  The hardest part about his job is public speaking, dealing with his competition, and dealing with issues in Washington D.C.  The best part about his job is building new things that clients enjoy and can use.
Mr. Adcock loves his job and feels very fortunate.  We thought his job was very interesting!
