Nurse

Today we learned about a nurse. Her name was Mrs. Kalathiveetil  She works at Alexian Brothers Hospital in the Post Surgical Unit.  She assists the doctors when patients come out of surgery. She wears a uniform called a scrub. She also wears gloves so she does not get sick.                  
Some of her daily responsibilities are to help people sit up, give medicine to sick people, bandage them, learn to give shots, and get information about patients. Eight to twelve hours is a typical work day. She works Monday through Friday. Sometimes she is on call at night.         
Mrs. Kalathiveetil went to college and she has to keep learning new things. She has been in her career for eleven years. Before that she was a paramedic.         It is hard to watch someone in pain, but she enjoys helping people.  She loves her job!
